The year is going so fast and we are enjoying every minute of it. We are working hard on year end dances for our shows in June. Easter Studio Closure:
Project Dance is Closed Friday April 2nd and Monday April 5th, 2010. The studio IS OPEN Saturday April 3rd.
Registration for the 2010/2011 Season:
For returning Project Dance Families registration begins THURSDAY APRIL 1st. In studio registrations are only being accepted at that time. All classes are on a first come first serve basis. Registration will be open to the general public on APRIL 15th. I have attached the 2010/11 Schedule to this email. The schedule will be adjusted this next week to make sure there are no conflicts. Welcome to Project Dance...Sarah Reis: (Acro, Ballet, Jazz & Contemporary Instructor)
We are so lucky to have Miss Sarah join us for the remainder of this season as well as our Faculty for 2010/11.
Miss Sarah's Bio...
Sarah has been teaching dance and coaching high performance gymnastics for many years and her choreography is well known throughout the artistic community. In 2005 Sarah was elected to Gymnastics BC to choreograph the opening ceremonies for the National Championships, which was televised across North America. Sarah has received many choreography awards at local dance competitions including, Peak Invitational, ADA, Footloose, and Dance Power. Her choreography has been showcased at gymnaestrada events across Canada, and 2006 her students competed at the world dance championships in Germany.
Sarah is a life long learner committed to continual growth as an educator. She aims to provide her students with the best training while promoting social development and team cohesion. Sarah is currently studying dance at Simon Fraser University to gain further knowledge in dance technique, while she is working towards her Masters Degree in Sport Psychology. Sarah is committed to conducting academic research in artistic sports with a particular interest in the Psychology of dance performance.

COMPETITIVE SOLO, DUOS & TRIOS 2010,
We are doing private requests a little different this year. We have sign up sheets on the reception counter. Please fill out the form and hand it into the office ASAP. Amanda will be going through the requests as soon as they are turned in. Please note that every request will be considered and we will try out best to accommodate.
5678 SHOWTIME:
I have been contacted by 5678 and we are in negotiations on what to do about the competition. They are trying to reschedule...all the dates we have been given have conflicted with our other competitions. As soon as I know more information or a solid date or refund I will email everyone immediately! Thank you for all your patience and understanding with this unfortunate situation.
YEAR END COSTUMES:
All year end Mini and Recreational costume has been ordered and they are on their way from the USA. We don't have exact dates on when the costumes arrive but as soon as they do your child will receive it. Mini & Recreational families will recieve an invoice on the small balance of the costumes before April 15th.
MISS GORITSAS'S BALLET CLASSES:
Now that RAD Ballet exams are finished Miss Kelly and Miss Sarah R. are going to be starting to work hard on year end recital pieces. We are doing costumes different this year than we did last. We are renting costumes for our shows for "Cameron Academy of Classical Dance". We have selected costumes that will be great for our vision of our Ballet Performance.
We require a $40.00 costume rental fee this is due as soon as possible. The rental will cover both picture day, dress rehearsal and shows. The costumes being rented are all professionally made and would be over $100 to be bought.... so with a lot of thought we think this will work the best for this year.

Shows: Saturday June 20th 2pm & 7pm
**Please note there is NO solo/duo show. Each soloist or duo may pick ONE dance to perform at one of the two shows. Please let Jacquie or Amanda know asap which dance they would like to perform at the show. You may request the matinee or evening show...but due to time restratints you may not all get your ideal show. We thank you for your understanding in advance.
