R.A.D. Ballet Instructor at Project Dance Chilliwack

Rebecca Goritsas
R.A.D Ballet Instructor

Rebecca Goritsas is a certified Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet teacher.

Her experience goes back 25 years, starting in her home town of Abbotsford, and branching out to Greater Vancouver, the United States and eventually Spain.

Although Ballet is her main area of training, she also has experience in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Musical Theatre. She also dedicated a large amount of her training time to Spanish Classical Dance, Flamenco, and Folkloric Spanish and has performed professionally in this art form.

Among her best known teachers are Deborah Cameron, Dolores Kirkwood, Bonnie Lee Haus, Bonnie Jean Anderson, Rod Schultz, Rosario Ancer, Teo Morca (USA), Nancy Sedgewick (USA), and Maite Galan (Spain).

Rebecca graduated as a drama major from Langley Fine Arts School and studied piano and music theory under the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). Currently, she is working towards her Spanish Dance teacher’s certification under the Spanish Dance Society (SDS).

Rebecca received her RAD Diploma in 2002, but has been teaching over 10 years now.

Since she started teaching, Rebecca has been sharing her love and enthusiasm for Ballet, and for dance in general, to form a well rounded dancer who can express the artistic self and connect fully with the audience. She also thrives to create healthy dancers who will love the art of dance and become future performers, teachers and spectators of dance.

Rebecca chooses choreography of classical, contemporary and lyrical Ballet pieces for competitions and recitals and has had students successfully win medals in the Lower Mainland, Toronto and the 2007 Worlds competition in New York City.

Rebecca is excited to be a part of such a new and upcoming studio as Project Dance and hopes she can impart the love of Ballet to everyone she teaches.
